"Animal Disease Control Officer Competition", the Guangdong preliminary contest of the 3rd National Agricultural Vocational Skills Competition, was held in Zhongshan on the morning of August 27.

A total of 60 grass-roots animal disease control officers from 20 prefecture-level cities in Guangdong competed in 5 special skills, including venous blood collection from chicken wings and swine fever inoculation.

Zhongshan people consume about 2.6 million pigs and 50 million poultry each year, which are mainly imported from other cities. Improving the practical operation ability of grass-roots animal disease control officers is of great significance to resist the invasion of animal epidemic diseases, ensure the safety of animals and their products, promote the high-quality development of animal husbandry, and build a city with quality safety standards for agricultural products.
