The opening ceremony of the "Xiangshan Craftsman Cup" Zhongshan Workers' Skills Competition and 2020 Key Projects Workers' Skills Competition was held on the morning of December 3.

A total of 11 teams took part in the competition. They came from various work units participating in the execution of key projects in Zhongshan, including the Tanzhou Express Line, Xihuan Expressway, Zhongshan-Kaiping Expressway, Shenzhen-Zhongshan Bridge, etc. Among these contestants, there were surveyors, welders, steelworkers, etc. The competition was divided into 3 parts: surveying, welding and installation, and die-filling.

"Welding and installation relies heavily on accurate measurements. This is the reason for choosing this competition system," said Yang Xinhui, a member of the management center for the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Bridge project, adding that the content of this assessment was not only achieving accurate measurement results, but also for contestants' operation specifications and teamwork ability.
