On the afternoon of December 10, leaders of Songzi city, Hubei province visited 24 medical staff in Zhongshan and expressed gratitude for their dedication.

On February 11 this year, during the most difficult time in fighting COVID-19, Zhongshan sent a professional medical team of 24 staff to Songzi to fight the epidemic. Through the joint effort of the Zhongshan medical team and local medical staff in Songzi, the confirmed and suspected cases in Songzi were reduced to zero on March 7, and none of the medical staff were infected.

"We give our thanks to the medical staff from Zhongshan. Every fight in epidemic prevention and control has proved your selfless dedication. You made us feel the warmth of spring." Chen Liang, deputy Party secretary and acting mayor of Songzi, said with great affection. "On behalf of Songzi city and 860,000 Songzi people, I would like to express my deep appreciation to Zhongshan city and its people."

"Zhongshan and Songzi are closely linked by this fight. I miss the colleagues and patients in Songzi very much. We are not relatives, but feelings between us are more profound than those between relatives." Yuan Xiaoling, the captain of the medical team assisting Songzi and academic director of Respiratory Medicine Department of Zhongshan People's Hospital, said that she would definitely go back to visit her "comrades" who once fought together against the epidemic.
