The main bridge of the Shalang Overpass, part of the national highway G105 south section reconstruction project (Shalang to Guhe), opened to traffic on April 15.

The Shalang Overpass is 376 meters long and 19.5 meters wide, with a speed limit of 80 km/h and a design reference period of 100 years. Upon completion, it will alleviate traffic in Shalang District and surrounding towns during rush hours and provide efficient and convenient travel for people going to Guangzhou, Shenzhen and Zhuhai.

This is the first bridge on the south section of G105 that has been completed and opens to traffic. The remaining 9 overpass bridges will be completed and open to traffic by the end of this year. The overpass bridges on the Banfu Avenue intersection, Yingbin Avenue intersection, Jingu Avenue intersection and Zhonghuan Avenue intersection are expected to be completed and open to traffic on June 30.

According to the construction plan, the main roads of G105 south section will be finished by the end of this year, and supporting facilities such as auxiliary roads and roadside greening designs will be completed in June 2022.
