Su Bingtian runs 9.98-second 100-meter sprint

According to the China Athletics Association, the East China Division of the 2021 Track and Field Invitational Tournament kicked off in Zhaoqing, Guangdong Province on April 24. In the 100-meter sprint, Su Bingtian won the championship with a time of 9.98 seconds.

Xie Zhenye, also a member of the national team, came in second at 10.16 seconds, while a Guangdong sprinter Liang Jinsheng came in third with 10.38 seconds.

After winning the final of the 2018 Jakarta Palembang Asian Games with a time of 9.92 seconds, Su Bingtian broke the 10-second barrier again two years and eight months later. As a result, Su Bingtian and Justin Gatlin are tied for 5th place in the world this season.
