Zhongshan horseback competition rider Liang Ruiji on May 30 completed his last jump in the show jumping competition in Poland's CCI4*-L, and made the eligibility requirements for the Olympic event, confirming his intent to take part in the Tokyo Olympics. This means that, all the members of Chinese horseback event team will go to the Tokyo Olympics.
Earlier, in the Tokyo 2020 qualifier held in Saumur, France in 2019, the Chinese horseback team, composed of four riders including Liang Ruiji, performed well and succeeded in earning a place in the Tokyo Olympics. This was also the first time that China has qualified for the horseback team competition in the Olympics.
Liang Ruiji, a native of Dongsheng Town, Zhongshan, was born in 1984. He has been practicing jockeying since he was 14 years old and is nicknamed as the "dancer on horseback".
