"I was standing in the second row. When Party and state leaders walked past me, I was so excited and my eyes were filled with tears!" Mai Runjin, a retired Party member of the Zhongshan Bureau of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, who was just awarded the national title of outstanding Party member, recalled the scene on June 29.

At the ceremony, Party and state leaders met with national outstanding Party members and outstanding Party service workers, as well as representatives of national outstanding primary Party organizations. Mai Runjin was one of those outstanding persons.

Mai said that he was immersed in the joy to attend such a commendation conference. He summed up his feelings as "excited, moved, emotional, and honored". "I must grasp the spirit of the conference and bring it back to Zhongshan. This is an important task!" Mai added.

A total of 400 outstanding Party members, 300 outstanding Party service workers and 499 outstanding primary Party organizations were commended at the conference. Guangdong has 17 outstanding Party members, including Mai Runjin from Zhongshan.
