In the first half of 2021, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) of Zhongshan rose by 0.6% from the same period last year, 4.4 percentage points less than the growth rate from the previous year.

Price indexes of six of the eight categories of goods and services rose, while the remaining two fell. Pork prices fell by 14.3%, but the prices of aquatic products, cooking oils and industrial products went up.

Because the Spring Festival this year fell in a different month from last year, the CPI declined by 1.3% year on year in January, hitting its lowest point in the first half; In February, the Spring Festival resulted in price increase of non-staple foods, so the CPI decline narrowed to 0.6%; In March, the CPI rose by 0.3% year on year; From April to June, the CPI increased by 1.1%, 1.9% and 2.0%, respectively.
