The Portrait of Chinese Urban Citizens "Zhongshan Index" report was released for the 6th consecutive year on September 3.

This year's report randomly selected citizens from 108 cities in China. It analyzes data collected from WeChat and Sino Weibo from January to December 2020 and summarizes the main expressions of urban citizens from 4 aspects - hot topics, emotional characteristics, cognitive features and city influence - to create a picture of their minds.

The top 10 cities with the most web influence are Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou, Tianjin, Wuhan, Chengdu, Chongqing, Shenzhen, Nanjing and Hangzhou.

According to the report, Zhongshan is a city concerns most about people's livelihood, with its citizens getting most involved in discussing such social issues as the COVID-19 epidemic, food safety, travel safety and housing. The sentiment indexes of Zhongshan citizens, who are good-tempered as a whole, rank at a medium level. In addition, citizens in Zhongshan are logical, rational, and relatively cautious in their expression.
