Zhongshan diver wins gold medal at 14th National Games

The Women's Diving Team Final of the 14th National Games concluded on the evening of September 6.

The Guangdong team, spearheaded by Olympic champion Quan Hongchan and 21-year-old Zhongshan divier Chen Yiwen, won the team championship with 2320.97 points. This is also the first gold medal Zhongshan athletes win at the 14th National Games.

On the morning of September 6, Chen Yiwen and Ouyang Yu from Guangdong ranked first in the Synchronized 3m Springboard event with 214.71 points.

Chen took second place in the 3m Individual Springboard competition with 358.70 points in the evening.

Chen Yiwen, born in 1999, became a national team member in 2016. She has won many first place finishes in the National Diving Championship, Diving World Cup and World Aquatics Championship.

At the 14th National Games, Chen Yiwen will also participate in the Women's 3m Springboard and Women's Synchronized 3m Springboard.
