The Zhongshan Yachting Association on the afternoon of October 20 held a victory celebration for the sailing champion of the 14th National Games and a ceremony to see off the Zhongshan Yachting Team on their trip to the Guangdong provincial tournament. They welcomed Wang Yang, a Zhongshan athlete who won the gold medal in 470 Class Men's Dinghy at National Games held in Xi'an and presented the flag to the Zhongshan team that will play in the Guangdong Youth Sailing (Windsurfing) Tournament for the first time.

It is reported that Zhongshan will send 12 athletes to participate in the 2021 Guangdong Youth Sailing (Windsurfing) Tournament to be held in Shanwei from October 23 to 26.

During the event, Wang Yang shared stories on competing in the Tokyo Olympics and the National Games. It was the first time that Wang Yang, born in 1993, had participated in the Olympic Games. Wang and his partner Xu Zangjun achieved the best result in the 470 Class Men's Dinghy in China's history of participating in the Olympic Games.

At the 14th National Games, Wang Yang competed for Guangdong province and won the gold medal in the 470 Class Men's Dinghy. This is the first National Games gold medal that Guangdong sailing team has won since its establishment in 1996.
