GZJ Expressway (Phase IV) to open to traffic by year end

The last 100 meters of asphalt road surface of the Phase IV of the Guangzhou-Zhongshan-Jiangmen Expressway (GZJ Expressway) was finished on October 21, indicating the the completion of the pavement work of the whole line.

GZJ Expressway (Phase IV) starts from Dongfeng Interchange and ends at Nantou North Interchange, running a total length of 6.013 kilometers. The 3.23-kilometer double-deck bridge section was constructed for both highway and railway use. The upper level is part of the Guangzhou-Zhongshan-Jiangmen Expressway and the lower level is part of the Nansha Port Railway.

The Expressway has 6 lanes in either direction with a speed limit of 100km/h.

According to the plan, GZJ Expressway (Phase IV) will be qualified for opening to traffic in late November, and it is planned to officially open together with the Nansha Port Railway by the end of this year to make Dongfeng- and Nantou-based residents' travel more convenient.

GZJ Expressway runs through Guangzhou, Zhongshan, Foshan and Jiangmen cities, with a total length of about 67 kilometers.
