Zhongshan Traffic Police noted that their focus will be on cracking down such traffic violations as the failure of motorcycle and electric bicycle riders to wear safety helmets. 

It is reported that the traffic police are carrying out the "Helmet Storm" campaign to investigate and control all kinds of motorcycle-related traffic violations in Zhongshan.

In addition to detaining relevant violators and vehicles, people who do not wear helmets will be exposed to the public through TV programs, media reports, sreens in public areas, etc. The infractor list will also be sent to relevant departments, enterprises and public institutions to combine traffic police law enforcement procedures with the internal management of work units.

Action period: Surveillance and inspection will be carried out randomly and continuously through the year.

Locations: Checkpoints will be set up randomly and patrols will be conducted to expand the law enforcement coverage.

What kind of traffic violations will be penalized?

Motorcycle: Unlicensed riding, passenger overloading, not wearing helmets, running a red light

Electric bicycle: Passenger overloading, running a red light, not having a vehicle license
