Zhongshan's CPI up 0.9% YOY in first 3 quarters

According to the Zhongshan Investigation Team of the National Bureau of Statistics, the Consumer Price Index (CPI) of Zhongshan increased by 0.9% year-on-year in the first three quarters of 2021, down 2.8 percentage points from the same period last year.

Among the prices of eight categories of goods and services, six rose and two dropped. The prices of transportation and communication rose by 4.1%, resulting in a 0.53 percentage points increase in CPI, while the prices of education, culture and entertainment increased by 2.6%, resulting in a 0.28 percentage points increase in CPI. Housing prices decreased by 2.3%, resulting in a 0.53 percentage points decrease in CPI.

Food prices fell by 0.1% over the first three quarters, with the prices of aquatic products, fresh fruits and eggs rising by 8.4%, 8.1%, and 7.5% respectively. The prices of livestock meat decreased by 12.8% overall, with the price of pork decreasing by 19.2%. Non-food prices rose by 1.1%.
