The ultra-wide and variable pipe section E29 of the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Bridge immersed tunnel was installed and connected with other pipe sections on the evening of November 29.

E29 is the fourth non-standard ultra-wide variable pipe section at the east end of the immersed tunnel, with a length of about 123.8 meters, the maximum width of about 49.75 meters, and a weight of about 64,000 tons.

In the early morning of November 28, led by 9 tugboats, the E29 pipe section set out from Nansha Longxue Port in Guangzhou. Around 15:00 the same day, E29 that has crossed the Lingding and Fanshi Waterways in the Pearl River Estuary arrived at the construction site.

At 14:30 on November 29, after nearly 4 hours' operation, E29 was successfully installed about 25 meters underwater.

So far, a total of 18 pipe sections of the tunnel have been installed, with a total length of 2,764 meters.
