Guangdong Communications Group announced on December 15 that after 24.5 hours of continuous operation, the E15 pipe section of the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Bridge underwater tunnel was installed and connected with others. So far, some 2,929 meters of the underwater tunnel have been installed, accounting for 58.2% of the total length.

The E15 pipe section meets standard specifications, and is 165 meters long, 46 meters wide, 10.6 meters tall, and weighs about 80,000 tons.

Construction on the tunnel is progressing steadily, and 19 of the 32 pipe sections have been installed.
