The first 24m x 60m box girder of the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Bridge completed prefabrication on January 17. The 3,180-ton box girder is the heaviest single prefabricated, reinforced concrete one in the industry.

The Shenzhen-Zhongshan Bridge has 155 concrete box girders with a length of 60 meters, 14 of which are widening girders varying from 20 meters to 24 meters. The newly prefabricated is the first widening girder, with a maximum width of 24 meters and a height of 3.5 meters. Some 1,211 cubic meters of concrete were poured and the girder has a final weight of 3,180 tons, equivalent to 2,000 cars.

At present, 76 of the 155 sixty-meter box girders have been prefabricated, and the remaining ones are expected to be completed by October this year.
