The CPI growth of Zhongshan ranked sixth in Guangdong Province, below Huizhou, Jiangmen, Foshan, Dongguan and Guangzhou.
Driven by the higher price of gasoline, transportation and communication prices rose by 4.8%.
Affected by the increasing costs of education services, the prices of education, culture and entertainment grew by 2.8%.
Due to the growing consumer demands, clothing prices went up by 2.3%, while household goods and services prices rose by 1.6%, and food, tobacco and alcohol prices rose by 0.8%.
Driven by the increasing costs of medical services, the price of medical care rose by 1.3%.
Housing prices decreased by 1.8%, and non-aforementioned supplies and services by 0.5%.
