A donation ceremony for anti-pandemic materials for Hong Kong was held in Zhongshan Conference Center on February 24. Liu Meixin, member of the Standing Committee and director of the United Front Work Department of the CPC Zhongshan Municipal Committee, donated the materials to Hong Kong organizations on behalf of the CPC Zhongshan Municipal Committee and the Zhongshan People's Government.
As of February 24, Zhongshan has sent 36,200 rapid detection kits, 41,000 boxes of Lianhua Qingwen Cold Medicine, 2,200 boxes of TCM dissolvable cold medicine, 557,350 surgical masks, and 12,000 N95 masks to Hong Kong, a total value of about 2 million yuan.
Chen Xueqin, an epidemiologist of the Zhongshan Center for Disease Control and Prevention, arrived in Hong Kong on February 17 as a member of the first expert team from the mainland to support Hong Kong in the fight against COVID-19. Zhongshan will send another 325 medical staff to Hong Kong in the coming days.
