A seminar presided over by Guo Wenhai, secretary of the CPC Zhongshan Municipal Committee, was held on March 7 to discuss the topic of "Rejuvenating Zhongshan Through Culture". Provincial and municipal literary masters and cultural industry workers were invited to deliberate measures on "Rejuvenating Zhongshan Through Culture".

Guo Wenhai said that Zhongshan has rich historical and cultural deposits, a strong backbone team that has passion for cultural undertakings, and a solid foundation for the development of cultural industries. He urged Zhongshan people to enhance confidence in rejuvenating Zhongshan through culture and waste no time to draw up and implement relevant development plans.

During the seminar, attendees focused on the "Rejuvenating Zhongshan Through Culture" topic and exchanged views and suggestions on cultural inheritance, literary and art creations, environment building, talent training, market cultivation and etc.

Liu Sifen, winner of the 4th Mao Dun Literature Awards, said that in modern history, there had been a number of historic figures including Sun Yat-sen, Zheng Guanying, Guo Le and Ruan Lingyu from Zhongshan. He suggested Zhongshan to build a pavilion of celebrities in Zhongshan in modern times.
