A new breakthrough was made on May 17 in the offshore construction of the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Bridge. After 1 hour and 56 minutes' operation, the highest box girder of the offshore non-navigable section of the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Bridge was erected. It was lifted at a height of 61.14 meters, as tall as a 22-story building.

It is expected that China Railway Major Bridge Engineering Group will complete the erection of all box girders for the non-navigable section of the bridge in October this year to lay the foundation for the completion and opening of the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Bridge in 2024.
