A Zhongshan delegation led by Guo Wenhai, secretary of the CPC Zhongshan Municipal Committee, and Xiao Zhanxin, mayor of Zhongshan, paid an inspection visit to Shenzhen on August 10. Meng Fanli, secretary of the CPC Shenzhen Municipal Committee, and Qin Weizhong, mayor of Shenzhen, met with the Zhongshan delegation and had a panel discussion.

Meng Fanli extended a welcome to the Zhongshan delegation. He said that Shenzhen would deepen pragmatic cooperation with Zhongshan in various fields, gather more enterprise, capital and talent resources, and work together to promote high-quality development.

Guo Wenhai expressed his gratitude for the support to Zhongshan from Shenzhen and introduced Zhongshan's working concepts for building the "Guangdong Reform and Innovation Experimental Zone for the Integrated and Interactive Development of the East and West Banks of the Pearl River Estuary". He said Zhongshan would learn from Shenzhen's experience in terms of business environment building, industrial development, transportation, innovation, public service and social governance, urban planning and etc.

During the trip, the Zhongshan delegation also visited the Shenzhen Qianhai Free Trade Zone and Hetao Shenzhen-Hong Kong Science and Technology Innovation Cooperation Zone. Both sides exchanged views on various topics, including coordinated regional industrial chain layout, top talent community construction, and setting up terminal building of the Shenzhen Airport in Zhongshan.
