Zhongshan's CPI up 2.4% YoY in July

According to a report the Zhongshan investigation team of National Bureau of Statistics recently released, in July this year, Zhongshan's consumer price index (CPI) grew by 2.4% year-on-year and 0.1% month-on-month. From January to July, Zhongshan's CPI rose by 1.8% from last year.

Compared with the same period of last year, Zhongshan saw a 2.4% YoY growth in CPI in July. This includes food prices and non-food prices which rose by 4.8% and 1.9% respectively; As well as consumer goods prices and service prices which rose by 3.3% and 0.8% respectively.

The prices of food, tobacco and alcohol rose by 2.7%, transportation and communication rose by 6.7%, daily necessities and services rose by 3.0%, education, culture and entertainment rose by 1.5%, housing rose by 1.0%, clothing rose by 0.9%, and medical care rose by 0.5%, while the prices of other all supplies and services decreased by 0.1%.
