Zhongshan's CPI increased by 2.2% year-on-year and decreased by 0.1% month-on-month in August. The core CPI, excluding food and energy prices, leveled off on a month-on-month basis and increased by 0.7% year-on-year.

In August, food prices rose by 4.8% while non-food prices rose by 1.6%; the prices of consumer goods and services went up by 3.1% and 0.7% respectively.
