As the last steel box girder fell slowly, all the box girders for the non-navigable span of Shenzhen-Zhongshan have been erected on January 4.

The last erected steel box girder, 110 meters in length, 20 meters in width and 1,252.6 tons in weight, was transported and installed by "Tianyihao", a box girder transportation and erection vessel independently developed by China.

Shenzhen-Zhongshan Bridge, which integrates bridge, island, tunnel and underwater interchange sections, stretches about 24 kilometers, including about 17 kilometers of bridge section. A total of 138 steel box girders and 155 concrete ones need to be erected for the 11.4-kilometer non-navigable span.
