On January 12, a 225.8-ton steel box girder was lifted by slings to the middle of the east and west main towers of Lingdingyang Bridge of the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Bridge, being fixed at an altitude of 91 meters. It marks a new stage for the lift of steel box girders for the upper structure of the bridge.
Lingdingyang Bridge is a full-floating three-span suspension bridge with a main span of 1,666 meters. With the main towers 270 meters high and 213 steel box girder segments, it is a sea bridge with the highest navigation clearance in the world.
The lifted steel box girder this time is 11.2 meters in length, 49.7 meters in width and about 225.8 tons in weight.
