Zhongshan's top 10 livelihood projects for 2023 were announced at the second plenary meeting of the third session of the 16th Zhongshan Municipal People's Congress on the afternoon of February 8. They are:

1. Optimizing school place setting and educational facilities

2. Improving the medical insurance system

3. Accelerating renovation of old communities

4. Improving rural living environment

5. Enhancing employment services

6. Strengthening food safety regulation

7. Strengthening safety management of motorcycles and electric bikes

8. Pressing ahead with water environment treatment

9. Improving public services

10. Promoting health care for the elderly
