Pavement on the 24-kilometer Shenzhen-Zhongshan Bridge is about 20% finished, and the whole work is expected to be completed in April 2024.

The construction team set a new world record in the asphalt pavement on the steel deck of the Zhongshan Bridge by paving more than 22,300 square meters in a single day, roughly the size of 53 standard basketball courts (the previous world record was set by the work on the Nansha Bridge), according to the project leader.

The steel deck paving of the Lingdingyang Bridge is expected to set another new world record in the second half of the year.

"It is expected that 80% of the whole work will be finished this year and 100% in April 2024," said the project leader.
