On April 5, Zhongshan race walk team finished first in the mixed race walking group event (division ii) during the ongoing 16th Guangdong Provincial Games at Qingyuan Sports Center.

Zhongshan fielded a total of 18 race walkers for six events, who claimed 1 gold and 6 slivers, and broke a provincial record. Seven of them were admitted to the provincial team.
