Around 8am on April 15, the lower deck of Qijiang River Bridge on South Outer Ring road opened to traffic on a trial basis, and the section from Yongan No.1 Road to Cuijing Avenue resumed traffic with a speed limit of 40 km/h.

With the trial opening of the lower deck, east-west traffic on the bridge has resumed to ease the traffic pressure on Zhongshan No.2 Bridge on Bo'ai Road.

The Qijiang River Bridge is now closed to non-motor vehicles and pedestrians. The upward and downward bypasses of Chengnan Road within the trial section are under construction and are scheduled to open to traffic in May. The section from Cuijing Avenue in South Outer Ring to National Highway G105 is also under construction.
