Nantou Bridge opened for trial operation on the afternoon of June 8 after the restoration, resuming four-lane traffic in both directions. The new bridge will ease traffic congestion and facilitate travel around Zhongshan and Foshan cities.

Nantou Bridge across the Guizhou waterway is a transportation link between Nantou Town, Zhongshan and Shunde District,  Foshan.

With a full length of 360 meters, the left part of the bridge opened to traffic in February 1986 and has been in operation for 37 years. The right part, 390 meters in length, opened in 1992 and has been in operation for 31 years.
