Observant people may have found that "identity cards" are placed on many trees in downtown Zhongshan.

These are smart tree information management plates placed by the urban management department, through which people can access information about the trees and relevant laws and rules, which the administrative department can realize smart management of trees.

To date, 724 shade trees on 296 roads in downtown Zhongshan have been hung with such plates.

"By scanning the QR code, you will open a Wechat applet and you can get information about the species, families, genera and growth characteristics of different trees as well as relevant laws and regulations," says a staff member of the Zhongshan Garden Management Center.
