Recently, the Zhongshan Agricultural Technology Promotion Center are carrying out measurement on the production of high-yield demonstration sites of rice. As of July 17, tasks have been completed for seven sites in six towns and districts.

According to preliminary statistics, the Hurun rice growing base in Nanlang District achieved the highest dry grain yield of 665.50 kilograms per mu, and another two demonstration sites yielded over 600 kilograms per mu apiece. To date, all the measured sites have achieved a bumper harvest of early rice with a yield of more than 400 kilograms per mu each.

In the past three years, the Center has introduced 45 new rice varieties, and demonstrated and promoted five new technologies, including one-time fertilization technique and green prevention. To increase yields, Zhongshan plans to create eight high-yield demonstration sites of rice, which cover all the key rice-growing towns and districts.
