Xiao Zhanxin, Mayor of Zhongshan, met with Loh Tuck Keat, Consul General of Singapore in Guangzhou, on July 20. The two sides exchanged views on strengthening friendly exchanges and mutually-beneficial cooperation.

Xiao welcomed Loh and introduced the economic and social development of Zhongshan. He said the government delegation of Zhongshan visited Singapore this June, where it attended the 13th Meeting of the Singapore-Guangdong Collaboration Council and witnessed the signing of the Bayon Medical Device Industrial Park project in Zhongshan's Cuiheng New District. The two sides have achieved fruitful results in cooperation. Xiao expected that the two sides would deepen exchanges and cooperation in economic trade and investment, sci-tech innovation and other fields, to introduce more innovative ideas, pioneering models and quality projects from Singapore to Zhongshan, thus achieving win-win development.

Loh said it had been three years since he visited Zhongshan last time and he felt the astounding development speed of the city. He is positive about the development prospect of Zhongshan, hoping that the two sides would strengthen communication and coordination to complement each other's advantages in resources and advance relevant cooperation projects at faster pace.

During his stay in Zhongshan, Loh visited the construction sites of the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Bridge and the Cuiheng International Technology Innovation Center.
