The Information Office of Zhongshan People's Government held a press conference on September 20 to introduce the construction of Xingzhong and Shiqi stations of the Nansha-Zhongshan intercity railway. The preliminary work for these 2 stations will commence soon.

It is reported that the construction of the Nansha-Zhongshan intercity railway Zhongshan section includes 9 stations and two shield shafts. Currently, Shiji Road station, Zhongshan station, Torch station, Hengmen shield shaft, Xiangshan station and Xiang'er shield shaft are under preliminary construction.

Preparations for the preliminary construction of Xingzhong and Shiqi stations have started, while the preliminary work for Torch East, Zhangjiabian and Qijiang New Town stations is being carried out.

To ensure the construction of Xingzhong and Shiqi stations can start as scheduled, certain sections of Fukang Road will be closed off on September 25, followed by certain sections of Xingzhong Avenue on October 8.

Via the Nansha-Zhongshan intercity railway and the Shenzhen-Zhongshan Bridge, Zhongshan will be directly connected to Guangzhou and Shenzhen cities in the future.
