The fourth session of the 16th Zhongshan Municipal People's Congress opened on the afternoon of February 2.

The main agenda of the session is as follows: To listen to and deliberate on the work report of the Zhongshan Municipal People's Government; to review and approve the report on the implementation of the 2023 economic and social development plan of Zhongshan City and the draft plan for 2024, as well as the 2024 economic and social development plan. Additionally, the session will review and approve the report on budget execution in 2023 and the draft budget for 2024 of Zhongshan City, along with the municipal-level draft budget for 2024. It will also listen to and deliberate on the work report of the Standing Committee of the Zhongshan Municipal People's Congress, the Zhongshan Intermediate People's Court, and the Zhongshan Municipal People's Procuratorate. Other items on the agenda include electing part of the members of the Standing Committee of the 16th Municipal People's Congress and the director of the Municipal Supervisory Committee, as well as voting on Zhongshan's top 10 people's livelihood projects for 2024 and addressing other matters.
