Construction of Maonan Road (Zhongshan-Kaiping Expressway to Shizhen Road), a crucial artery connecting Torch High-tech Zone and Cuiheng New District, officially commenced on July 28.

The road project spanning 1.68 km is constructed as a first-class highway with six lanes in two directions, and its design speed is 80 km/h.

It will help solve traffic problems in eastern Zhongshan and connect the Smart Health Town in Torch Zone and the South China Modern TCM City in Cuiheng.

Maonan Road is scheduled to be completed in January 2026.
