The launch ceremony of the 4K UHD documentary "Sound Beyond Strings - Lui Mansing, Master of Cantonese Music" was held at the Zhongshan Broadcasting and Television Station on September 4.

This is the first documentary that systematically narrates the life story of Lui Mansing, also known as Lyu Wencheng and the evolution of Cantonese music. It will be broadcast on CCTV Channel 9 at 8 pm on September 7 and 8, and will be released also on iQIYI.

Born in Zhongshan, Lui Mansing was a renowned folk musician of China, honored as the Master of Cantonese Music. He devised the singing style of Cantonese Opera, created the Gaohu, an emblematic musical instrument of Cantonese music, and composed nearly 300 pieces of music, including the famous "Autumn Moon over Calm Lake" and "Rising Higher Step by Step".
