The Department of Natural Resources of Guangdong Province issued the pre-announcement on international consultation for the conceptual planning and design of the "Golden Inner Bay" days before.

According to the document, the "Golden Inner Bay" covers some areas of Guangzhou, Shenzhen, Zhuhai, Foshan, Dongguan and Zhongshan.

The "Golden Inner Bay" consists of the 100-kilometer coastal area around the A-shaped Pearl River Estuary, the 2,100-square-kilometer water area, and parts of the surrounding 3 metropolitan zones.

Zhongshan's Cuiheng New District, Torch Development Zone, Sanjiao, Huangpu, Gangkou, East District, West District, Shiqi District, South District, Shaxi, Dachong and Wuguishan are included in the "Golden Inner Bay".

As the highly anticipated ShenZhong Link opened to traffic in late June, there is an extra passage over the Pearl River Estuary, bringing more development opportunities to Zhongshan within the "Golden Inner Bay".
