On October 11, the Double Ninth Festival, the 2024 Elderly-respecting Month kicked off with a group wedding activity for senior residents at Sun Yat-sen Memorial Library.

Twenty-nine elderly couples relived the wonderful moments when they entered the hall of marriage and shared their stories about love and family traditions, touching the the audience.

"We got married through a tea party back then. Today's group wedding is held in a lively and bustling atmosphere, and we feel happy and satisfied", said Ms Xue, a participant of the activity.

In recent years, Zhongshan city has continuously improved its policy system of elderly care services, comprehensively promoted home-based elderly care services in communities, and provided full-time care, daycare, meal assistance, health care and rehabilitation, housekeeping and other services for the elderly. A "15-minute elderly care service circle" is gradually established to ensure a happy life of senior residents.
