New Zhongshan Passenger Port opens for navigation

With the sound of the whistle, the "Zhongshan 20" cruise ship carrying 219 passengers set off from Berth 9 at about 10 am on November 28 and headed for Hong Kong China Ferry Terminal, marking the opening of the new Zhongshan Passenger Port.

As the largest water transport passenger port in Guangdong, the new Zhongshan Passenger Port is equipped with advanced supervision and inspection facilities. Its four-storey joint inspection building includes areas for passenger clearance, office use, duty-free shopping and commercial facilities. It is designed to handle up to 2.77 million passengers per year.

The new passenger port has three routes in operation, from Zhongshan to Hong Kong China Ferry Terminal, Hong Kong International Airport and Port of Shekou in Shenzhen respectively. Further research will be carried out on new routes to Macao's Taipa Ferry Terminal and Zhuhai's Guishan Island.

In its first month of operation, Zhongshan-Hong Kong Passenger Shipping Co-op Co Ltd plans to operate 22 flights per day (11 inbound and 11 outbound flights), including 9 inbound and 9 outbound flights to Hong Kong, and 2 inbound and 2 outbound flights to Shekou.

Located in the southeast corner of Cuihang New District, the new passenger port enables 50-minute trip to Shekou, 50-minute trip to Hong Kong International Airport, 65-minute trip to Hong Kong China Ferry Terminal, 50-minute trip to Taipa Ferry Terminal, and 48-minute trip to Guishan Island.
