Zhongshan plans to further extend Gushen Highway, which will connect Zhongshan's Tanzhou Town with Zhuhai's Nanping Town.

The extension project starts at the Gushen Highway (Phase 2) construction site, and ends at Zhuhai's Guangnan Road, with a total length of 1.139 km (including 0.593 km in Zhongshan and 0.546 km in Zhuhai). It will be built as a two-way six-lane first-class highway, with a design speed of 60 km/h.
