"Last year, we invested over 28 million yuan in research and development, accounting for 11% of our turnover. We have made breakthroughs in the semiconductor and new energy vehicle fields, breaking foreign monopoly and achieving domestic substitution with sci-tech innovation."
Booster, an electronic technology company in Zhongshan, was still working on scientific research and breakthroughs before the Spring Festival. According to Huang Lihua, Booster's director of operations and administration, the company had obtained 163 patents for inventions, software copyrights and utility models, including 54 invention patents, by the end of 2024.
Located in Zhongshan's Tanzhou Town, Booster serves its domestic and international clients with advanced technologies in electronic product manufacturing and testing, automated testing and artificial intelligence. The company has developed cooperation with Tsinghua University, Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, and Zhejiang University.
"This is a testing and sorting machine special for optical sensing chips, primarily used for the appearance inspection, testing and sorting of semiconductor chips. We started the development in 2023 and now have put it in mass production."
Previously, the semiconductor testing market basically relied on imported equipment. In order to break the monopoly of foreign equipment, Booster embarks on the road to independent research and development, said Gao Ting, director of the semiconductor division.
Also, Booster has developed a high-precision temperature control system to achieve domestic substitution.
In the NEV field, Booster has developed domestically leading mass production testing lines for such core components of autopilot as laser radars, millimeter-wave radars and domain controllers. The company has taken charge of major research and development projects in Zhongshan, such as the design of standardization and modularization for the automotive electronic testing industry.
"In the new year, Booster will further cooperation with universities, focusing on the new materials area. Meanwhile, we will increase investment in research and development in the semiconductor and NEV fields, aiming to help advance the building of a modern industrial system with sci-tech innovation." Huang Lihua added.
