The groundbreaking ceremony for key projects in West District in 2025 was held at the Longping Fitness Park on February 15. A total of 13 projects started construction, with a gross investment of 3.211 billion yuan. These projects cover such areas as industrial park renovation, water treatment, education, transportation and infrastructure.

Four are industrial projects, with a total investment of 933 million yuan, primarily involving the renovation of old industrial parks.

Among them, the second phase of the Jinchang Industrial Park plans to introduce enterprises in such sectors as key NEV components and next-generation information technology. Upon completion, it is expected to achieve an annual output value of at least 380 million yuan and an annual tax revenue of at least 12 million yuan.

The other nine are supporting infrastructure upgrading projects, with a total investment of 2.278 billion yuan. They cover areas such as transportation, water conservancy, urban renewal, education and living environment.

Among them, the interchange of Guangzhou-Zhuhai West Expressway and Longping Road is expected to be completed and open to traffic this year. At that time, the travel time from Longping Road to Guangzhou-Zhuhai West Expressway will be reduced to 5 minutes, which significantly facilitates the travel of surrounding enterprises and residents.

In 2025, West District will focus on modern service industries such as culture and tourism, healthcare and producer services, as well as high-end manufacturing industries such as smart home and new energy, and introduce projects with high technological content and strong driving ability.
