Guangdong announces through a notice an increase in the minimum wage standards for both full-time and part-time workers starting from March 1, 2025.
The Notice outlines four different minimum wage categories, with Guangzhou and Shenzhen implementing Category 1 standards. Guangzhou's monthly minimum wage will be raised to 2,500 yuan, while Shenzhen's will be slightly higher at 2,520 yuan. Both cities will also adopt the same hourly minimum wage for non-full-time workers, which is 23.7 yuan per hour.
Category 2 minimum wage standards, applicable to Zhuhai, Foshan, Dongguan and Zhongshan, will be adjusted to 2,080 yuan per month. The corresponding hourly wage for part-time workers in these areas will be 19.8 yuan per hour.
Category 3 standards, which will apply to cities including Shantou, Huizhou, Jiangmen, Zhanjiang and Zhaoqing, will set the monthly minimum wage at 1,850 yuan. The hourly wage for non-full-time workers in these cities will be 18.3 yuan per hour.
Category 4, which covers 10 cities including Shaoguan, Heyuan and Meizhou, will see the monthly minimum wage set at 1,750 yuan, with part-time workers earning an hourly minimum wage of 17.4 yuan.
