Since its relocation to the Ma'an Island of the Cuiheng New District, the Zhongshan Passenger Port has been making rapid progress after its launch at the end of 2024. Following the recent opening of routes to the Shenzhen Airport Ferry Terminal and the Macao Taipa Ferry Terminal, this port is accelerating its connection with Zhuhai.

Relevant departments of Zhongshan and Zhuhai have identified new cooperation directions, including opening a direct route from the Zhongshan Passenger Port to Guishan Island in Zhuhai and jointly planning the "Double Bridge Tour", a themed cultural tourism product featuring the ShenZhong Link and the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge.

The "Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge Tour", operated by Jiuzhou Port, centers on "bridge sightseeing + island tourism", which has gained great popularity in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) by leveraging the resources of Zhuhai, Hong Kong and Macao. On the Ma'an Island of the Cuiheng New District, the sunrise viewing spot located next to the ShenZhong Link has also become a hot destination in the GBA.

Situated at the eastern shoreline of the Ma'an Island of the Cuiheng New District, the Zhongshan Passenger Port serves as a quick connection to the ShenZhong Link. Currently, the port has opened two routes to Hong Kong (to the Hong Kong International Airport and Zhonggang City), two to Shenzhen (to Shekou and the Shenzhen Airport Ferry Terminal), and one to Macao (to the Macao Taipa Ferry Terminal). With these connections, the port is well-positioned to integrate the cultural and tourism resources across the GBA.

On this basis, Zhongshan, in collaboration with Zhuhai, is exploring and planning the "Double Bridge Tour", a themed cultural tourism product featuring the ShenZhong Link and the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge, which is expected to create a new highlight of cultural tourism in the region.

Zhongshan has also discussed with relevant departments of Zhuhai about opening a direct route from the Zhongshan Passenger Port to Guishan Island in Zhuhai. Its opening is expected to fill the gap in direct connections between Zhongshan and the island clusters on the western side of the Pearl River Estuary. It will also link Zhongshan's red culture resources, Zhuhai's coastal leisure attractions, and Guishan Island's fishery tourism to create a "multi-stop tourism route", as well as a new combination of "bridge sightseeing + island tourism".

In addition, the Zhongshan Passenger Port will explore the development of various business forms. Its new four-floor inspection building will cover multiple functions such as passenger clearance, office space for inspection departments and operating units, duty-free shops, and commercial facilities. After completion, the inspection building will integrate functions of passenger transport, cultural tourism, and official business, positioning Ma'an Island as a comprehensive functional hub facing the GBA.
