As the road construction project has been basically completed, the Yakou east embankment in Nanlang Sub-district reopened to the public on April 1.
The 2-kilometer Yakou east embankment is a popular tourist site in Zhongshan. At dawn, crowds of visitors gather here to watch the sunrise. The area remains lively throughout the day and into the night, with nearly 100 market stalls lining the embankment, allowing tourists to enjoy snacks and drinks while soaking in the sea breeze.
The upgraded east embankment now features pedestrian-vehicle separation and has further alleviated parking difficulties. The elevated path along the embankment has been built into a pedestrian walkway, and a newly constructed rural path on the lower western side of the embankment is designated for one-way vehicle traffic.
