A delegation led by Peter Wade, mayor of Havant in Hampshire, the UK visited Zhongshan on April 11. Ouyang Jinquan, vice mayor of Zhongshan, met with the delegation.

The two sides signed a memorandum of understanding on friendly cooperation, marking a new chapter of all-round exchanges and cooperation between the two cities.

Located in southeastern England, Havant covers an area of about 55 square kilometers and has a population of 120,000. In recent years, it has developed a modern industrial system dominated by precision engineering, logistics and technology research and development through industrial upgrading.

Peter Wade noted that Havant and Zhongshan are highly complementary in terms of location advantages and industrial structures. The two cities can explore cooperation opportunities in such fields as business, education and tourism.
