On the evening of April 21, a ship with 112 containers of home appliances was released by the customs and then departed from the Xiaolan Port in Zhongshan, bound for overseas areas.

"Since the beginning of this year, Xiaolan Port has seen a steady increase in import and export cargo volumes, with daily container handling reaching 1.16 times the previous level," said a spokesman of Xiaolan Port Cargo Transportation Related Co, adding that the port's foreign trade volume grew by 24% year on year in the first quarter.

Customs statistics show that Zhongshan's total export-import volume reached 68.95 billion yuan in the first quarter, up 10.5% year on year. Exports totaled 60.9 billion yuan, up 12.1% year on year.

Among the many "Made in Zhongshan" goods exported overseas, smart home appliances shine as the star products. In the first three months, Zhongshan's export volume of home appliances increased 13.4% year on year to 16.59 billion yuan.
