A mass orienteering event of the 15th National Games held its final in Maoming, Guangdong on May 8.
Team Guangdong, composed of Zhongshan athlete Tang Jianda and his teammates Tang Xiao, Li Zhuoye and Chen Xin (substitute), clinched the gold medal in men's orienteering relay with a time of 1 hour, 43 minutes and 19 seconds. It was also Guangdong's first gold in the mass events of the 15th National Games.

Later, another Zhongshan athlete Zheng Jiayi, along with her teammates Chen Shuna, Ye Qi and Cao Danping (substitute), delivered an outstanding performance to win the women's orienteering relay, with a time of 2 hours, 24 minutes and 29 seconds, adding another gold medal to Guangdong's tally.

Among the 16 members of the Guangdong orienteering team, Tang Jianda, Zheng Jiayi, Lin Longyuan and Du Jianhua are from Zhongshan.
In the upcoming events, Guangdong would compete in the team race, with Lin Longyuan and Du Jianhua set to make their appearance.
